Louise Downie
"I was struggling with shoulder pain post-injury. Louise’s treatments and knowledge on recovery are what got me back on the pitch, better than I was before”
S.M - Irvine
"I attended for a massage with Louise, she made me feel so comfortable and at ease. I couldn’t believe the difference after just one session”
H.M, Kilmarnock
Louise started off her career in the corporate business world. After studying Human Resource Management she quickly realised that this was not for her and she decided to move into working with people in a more hands-on environment.
Following years as a competitive swimmer, and now playing rugby, she’s had her fair share of injuries. This is what inspired her to take the path to becoming a Sports Therapist.
Having completed her massage qualification in June 2024, Louise started helping injured athletes, especially those with complex needs. These were usually those described as ‘fitness fanatics’ who needed that extra bit of support and expertise when it came to their treatment protocols and training advice to speed up their journey to recovery.
Looking to the future, Louise is commencing her training to become a Physiotherapist later in 2025.
When not in clinic, Louise is either pitch-side with one of her sports teams providing massage, first-aid or injury assessment, or on the rugby pitch herself!
Playing rugby for Ayr Ladies and most recently Glasgow Warriers, she is passionate about facilitating recovery and increasing the performance of players.
Louise is excited to be a part of the clinical team here at CoreHealth Chiropractic and loves working to help all of her patients have less pain, move better and reach their health goals, whatever they are.
